This training course is designed to provide participants with the essential practices and concepts of drilling technology, emphasizing both theory and practical application, as well as the BHA Design. Drilling is a complex operation requiring the marriage of different technologies and disciplines. This course will help participants gain a comprehensive understanding of the operational practices in the field and use it in the optimum ways
Course Objectives
At the end of the training course, participants will be able to
- Review drilling data and plan the well
- Incorporate completion plans into the drilling plan
- Drill a well cost effectively and maximize penetration rate
- Evaluate stuck pipe problems and avoid potential problems
- Evaluate and maintain drilling fluids
- Optimize hole cleaning
- Design casing, drill string and BOP/wellheads
- Evaluate and implement cementing programs
- Design and implement bit and hydraulics programs
- Incorporate directional drilling and deviation control
- Recognize and evaluate well control problems
- Understand the jar types, placement in different BHA’s, different related problems & failures
- Explore the BHA’s inspections checks, P/U, M/U & RIH procedures.
- Obtain understanding of the CH Side Tracks, Whip Stock BHA Design, Milling & Smoothing CSG Window Procedures.
- Learn the PPL Sub design, types, and needs in BHA.
- Recognize various directional drilling tools, BHA’s, practices
